CONTESTANT REGISTRATION GUIDE
1. New participants - All new participants will have to register if you have never registered before with USOMC at this website (www.usomcregistration.com).

2. Returning participants - If you were here last year with us or in the past from 2016 when we start having this registration website, you do not need to register again. All you need is your login email address and the password.

3. If you are a parent or teacher that register for your child/student (refer to as contestant), please note when you create the account:
- The name on the account must be the contestant name even though the email address that you use for creating the account is yours
- If you register for more than one contestant, each contestant MUST have their own account.
You will need to use a different email address to create the account for the second contestant, and another different email address to create the account for the third contestant, etc.; however, you can set up a one primary email address for each of the contestant account for all communication from USOMC to go to this primary email. This can be enter in the option: "Email you want to receive USOMC Correspondences"

    Start by Login

    A. Returning Contestant: enter the email address that you used previously, and the password. Select "Forgot your password" if you don't remember the password.

    B. New Contestant: Select New Customers if this is your first time with USOMC registration site. Fill out the information for new account as much as possible. You MUST provide a valid phone number and email address for USOMC to communicate with you.

    C. Multiple Contestants: If you register for more than one contestant, you must create individual account for each contestant. A different email address will need for different contestant. The system will not let you use the same email address for multiple accounts.
    Once each account has been created, a primary email address for communication can be set for multiple contestant accounts by entering the email address in the field "Email where you want to receive USOMC correspondence"
  • WHAT ARE THE REGISTRATION FEES


    WHAT ARE THE REGISTRATION FEES?
    Registration Fees include 2 sections: Processing Fee (refer to as Application Fee) and Event Entry Fees.

    1. Application Fee: each contestant is required to pay the Application Fee of $60 (only ONE time for the year of the competition).
    If the Application Fee is not completed at registration, your registration will be delayed and possibly be cancelled.
    It is expected that you pay the Application Fee at about the same time you complete the Event Entry Fees.

    Contestant that requires extra handling (eg. Visa assistance/translation, outside of the US and Canada, etc.) will need to pay an addition fee of $30

    2. Event Entry Fees
    Different event and level has different fee. For details of each event entry fees, go to 2021 USOMC SYLLABUS>GENERAL INFORMATION>REGISTRATION FEES.
    A contestant can enter more than one event, and as many as event as they can handle and within USOMC requirements. However, each event has a required entry fee that the contestant has to pay.

    HOW TO MAKE SURE THAT THE ACCOUNT NAME IS THE INTENDED CONTESTANT NAME?
    To make sure that the account's name is the contestant name, the My Account Tab should show the correct name at Welcome to your account "contestant name".

    If the name does not reflect the contestant's name, Click on Manage your billing addresses to select or edit to the correct name.
  • HOW TO PAY THE APPLICATION FEE


    HOW TO PAY THE APPLICATION FEE?
    1. Login to the contestant account

    2. Click the COMPETITION REGISTRATION Tab.
    - Hover the mouse over the COMPETITION REGISTRATION Tab will provide a list of the Competition Categories.
    - Select APPLICATION FEES. You will see the screen presenting the Application fee details. Click on More Info> to open up the page

    3. Click on the Image Application Fees. Fill out the information in the boxes for Contestant Name and Contestant's DOB. Click Add to Cart.

    4. APPLICATION FEE is required only ONCE for the year of competition.

    PLEASE NOTE: Application Fee MUST be paid for the contestant holder of the account only, which is the Contestant Name. The same account login cannot be used to pay for other Contestant.

    5. Select PROCEED TO CHECKOUT when done.

    6. Fill out the required BILLING INFORMATION. The name for BILLING INFORMATION is the name of the credit card holder (parent/teacher's name). The SHIPPING INFORMATION should have the name of the Contestant (child/student's name). Select PLACE ORDER to complete the registration process.

    7. A confirmation email will be sent immediately to the email address of the contestant account when the registration has successfully completed.
  • HOW TO REGISTER FOR OPEN SOLO EVENTS


    HOW TO REGISTER FOR OPEN SOLO EVENTS?
    1. Login to the contestant account

    2. Click the COMPETITION REGISTRATION Tab.
    - Hover the mouse over the COMPETITION REGISTRATION tab will provide a list of the Competition Categories.
    - Select OPEN SOLO. You will see the screen presenting OPEN SOLO events. Click More Info> to open up the page which show Open Solo events level 1A through 5D

    3. Click on the Image above the level that you want to register, make sure that you review the information thoroughly to ensure it is the correct music piece. Click Add to Cart.

    4. APPLICATION FEE can be included during this process, if you have not completed the Application Fee payment.
    - Select one of the Application fee option on the bottom of the page, as appropriate. Most contestant will pay the regular Application fee of $60.
    - Make sure contestant name is entered in the Application fee.
    - Application fee is required only ONCE.

    PLEASE NOTE: Your registration process will be delayed if the Application Fee is not completed during registration.

    5. If more event to be registered, hover the mouse over the COMPETITION REGISTRATION Tab to select another category and repeat step 2.

    6. Select PROCEED TO CHECKOUT when done.

  • HOW TO REGISTER FOR TREASURY EVENTS


    HOW TO REGISTER FOR TREASURY EVENTS?
    1. Login to the contestant account

    2. Click the COMPETITION REGISTRATION Tab.
    - Hover the mouse over the COMPETITION REGISTRATION Tab will provide a list of the Competition Categories.
    - Select the Treasury events of your choice(s) from Category 2 to 7. You will see the screen presenting the selected Treasury event. Click More Info> to open up the page of the particular event.

    3. Click on the Image above the level that you want to register, make sure that you review the information thoroughly to ensure it is the correct music piece. Click on the Arrow drop down to select your piece from one of the 6 pre-selected pieces. Click Add to Cart once done.

    REMEMBER: you can choose to enter one or more levels in Treasury events, but only ONCE in each level.

    4. APPLICATION FEE can be included during this process, if you have not completed the Application Fee payment.
    - Select one of the Application fee option on the bottom of the page, as appropriate. Most contestant will pay the regular Application fee of $60.
    - Make sure contestant name is entered in the Application fee.
    - Application fee is required only ONCE.

  • HOW TO REGISTER FOR OPEN DUET EVENTS


    HOW TO REGISTER FOR OPEN DUET EVENTS?
    1. Login to the contestant account

    2. Click the COMPETITION REGISTRATION Tab.
    - Hover the mouse over the COMPETITION REGISTRATION Tab will provide a list of the Competition Categories.
    - Select the Open Duet event that you are interested in (eg. OPEN DUET BAROQUE, OPEN DUET CLASSICAL, etc.). You will see the screen presenting the event of your interest. Click More Info> to open up the page of the particular event.

    3. Click on the Image above the level that you want to register, make sure that you review the information thoroughly to ensure it is the correct music piece.
    Enter the email address of
    a. the contestant who pay for the event entry
    b. the Primo player login email
    c. Secondo player login email.
    The email address of (a) must match with either (b) or (c). Make sure these email addresses are those used for contestants account creation.

    Click Add to Cart.

    REMEMBER: You can choose to enter one or more levels in the Open Duet events, but only once in each level.

    IMPORTANT: For Open Duet events, only one contestant will need to register and pay the event entry fee. However, valid email address of both contestants used at account creation must be entered when register for the event. It's important that each contestant in the group must register and complete the Application Fee payment, but only ONE contestant register for the event and complete the event entry fee.


    4. APPLICATION FEE can be included during this process, if you have not completed the Application Fee payment.
    - Select one of the Application fee option on the bottom of the page, as appropriate. Most contestant will pay the regular Application fee of $60.
    - Make sure contestant name is entered in the Application fee.
    - Application fee is required only ONCE.
    - Each contestant in the Duet MUST complete the Application fee.


    PLEASE NOTE: Your registration process will be delayed if the Application Fee is not completed during registration for both contestants in your group. The contestant who register for the event entry should remind their partner to complete the Application Fee payment to avoid any delay of registration.

    5. If more event to be registered, hover the mouse over the COMPETITION REGISTRATION Tab to select another category and repeat step 2.

    6. Select PROCEED TO CHECKOUT when done.

    7. Fill out the required BILLING INFORMATION. The name for BILLING INFORMATION is the name of the credit card holder (parent/teacher's name). The SHIPPING INFORMATION should have the name of the Contestant (child/student's name). Select PLACE ORDER to complete the registration process.

  • HOW TO REGISTER FOR SHOWCASE PIANO DUET AND DUO EVENTS


    HOW TO REGISTER FOR SHOWCASE PIANO DUET/DUO EVENTS?
    1. Login to the contestant account

    2. Click the COMPETITION REGISTRATION Tab.
    - Hover the mouse over the COMPETITION REGISTRATION Tab will provide a list of the Competition Categories.
    - Select the Showcase Piano Duet/Ensemble event (Category 12) or the Showcase Piano Duo/Ensemble event (Category 13) that you are interested in. You will see the screen presenting the event of your interest. Click More Info> to open up the page of the particular event.

    3. Click on the Image above the level that you want to register, make sure that you review the information thoroughly to ensure the correct level according to Age restriction.
    In the Music Selection boxes, Enter the detail description of the piece in the following format:
    Composer First Name Last Name: Music title, mvt #, tempo marking, Op.#, Key
    [For example: Sergey Rachmaninoff: Introduction from Suite Op.17]
    Enter the accurate time for the piece, such as 4:15 for 4 minutes and 15 seconds.
    Click USOMC Upload to upload the music pages and contestant proof of age. Once clicking on the USOMC Upload link, it will bring you to another site of USOMC operation to upload the information. You are required to upload the first 3 pages of the piece (if the piece is longer than 3 pages); and proof of the contestants' aes (e.g. birth certification, or official document or school ID that showing the contestant's DOB).
    USOMC does not store the uploaded information regarding age. Once the contestants' ages are confirmed, the information will be removed. Not the returning contestants do not need to upload the proof of age if they have already provided the proof to USOMC from previous year.
    REMEMBER: your registration process will be delayed if the required information are not uploaded to USOMC Upload site during registration.
    Only contestants in the Showcase events are required to upload the music and proof of age. If you are also enter in other events from Category 1 to Category 11 with pre-selected music pieces such as Open Solo and Treasury events, you are not required to provide the music for the pre-selected pieces.
    Once you are done with uploading information, hover back to the Registration site and
    Enter the email address of
    a. the contestant who pay for the event entry
    b. the Primo player login email
    c. Secondo player login email.
    The email address of (a) must match with either (b) or (c). Make sure these email addresses are those used for contestants account creation.

    Click Add to Cart.

    IMPORTANT: For Showcase Duet/Duo events, only one contestant will need to register and pay the event entry fee. However, valid email address of all contestants used at account creation must be entered when register for the event.   • HOW TO REGISTER FOR SHOWCASE PIANO SOLO EVENT


    HOW TO REGISTER FOR SHOWCASE PIANO SOLO EVENT?
    1. Login to the contestant account

    2. Click the COMPETITION REGISTRATION tab.
    - Hover the mouse over the COMPETITION REGISTRATION tab will provide a list of the Competition Categories.
    - Select the SHOWCASE PIANO SOLO. You will see the screen presenting the SHOWCASE PIANO SOLO events. Click More Info> to open up the page of the particular event.

    3. Click on the Image above the level that you want to register, make sure that you review the information thoroughly to ensure it is the correct level according to Age restriction.

    In the Music Selection boxes, Enter the detail description of the two pieces in the following format:
    Composer First name Last name: Music title, mvt #, tempo marking, Op. #, Key
    [For example: Joseph Haydn: Andante (2nd mvt) from Sonata Hob.XVI:3 in C Major].
    Enter the accurate time for each of the two pieces, such as 2:53 for 2 minutes and 53 seconds.

    Click USOMC Upload to upload the music pages and contestant proof of age. Once clicking on the USOMC Upload link, it will bring you to another site of USOMC operation to upload the information. You are required to upload the first 3 pages of each piece (if the piece is longer than 3 pages); and proof of the contestant's age (e.g. birth certificate, official document or school ID that showing the contestant's DOB, etc.).

    USOMC does not store the uploaded information regarding the age. Once the contestant's age is confirmed, the information will be removed. Note that returning contestants do not need to upload the proof of age if they have already provided the proof to USOMC from previous year.

  • HOW TO REGISTER FOR PIANO CONCERTO EVENTS


    HOW TO REGISTER FOR PIANO CONCERTO EVENTS?
    1. Login to the contestant account

    2. Click the COMPETITION REGISTRATION Tab.
    - Hover the mouse over the COMPETITION REGISTRATION Tab will provide a list of the Competition Categories.
    - Select the SHOWCASE PIANO CONCERTO - ONE MOVEMENT. You will see the screen presenting the SHOWCASE PIANO CONCERTO - ONE MOVEMENT events. Click More Info> to open up the page of the particular event.

    If you register for COMPLETE PIANO CONCERTO, select that category on the list instead.

    3. Click on the Image above the level that you want to register, make sure that you review the information thoroughly to ensure it is the correct level according to Ages restriction if you register for Showcase Piano Concerto event.

    For COMPLETE PIANO CONCERTO, it is No Age Limit. Thus no proof of age is required for the Complete Piano Concerto.

    In the Music Selection boxes, Enter the detail description of the concerto piece in the following format:
    Composer First name Last name: Music title, mvt #, tempo marking, Op. #, Key
    [For example: J.S. Bach: Allegro (1st mvt) from Concerto BWV. 1052 in D Minor].
    Enter the accurate time for the concerto piece, such as 10:53 for 10 minutes and 53 seconds.

    Click USOMC Upload to upload the music pages and contestant proof of age. Once clicking on the USOMC Upload link, it will bring you to another site of USOMC operation to upload the information. You are required to upload the first 3 pages of the concerto piece; and proof of the contestant's age (eg. birth certificate, official document or school ID that showing the contestant's DOB, etc.).

    USOMC does not store the uploaded information regarding the age. Once the contestant's age is confirmed, the information will be removed. Note that returning contestants do not need to upload the proof of age if they have already provided the proof to USOMC from previous year.

    REMEMBER: your registration process will be delayed if the required information are not uploaded to USOMC Upload site during registration.
    Once you are done with uploading information, hover back to the Registration site and Select Add to Cart.

    If you miss the Upload step during Registration, you can simply go back to the site, find the QUICK LINKS at the bottom of the page and select Upload Files to USOMC.

    Only contestants in the Piano Concerto event and Showcase Piano Solo event are required to upload the music and proof of age. If you are also enter in other events with pre-selected music pieces such as Open Solo and Treasury events, you are not required to provide the music for the pre-selected pieces.

    The Piano Accompaniment is preset as Yes and the entry fee for this event covers the fee for the accompanist.

    - Make sure contestant name is entered in the Application fee.

    HOW TO REGISTER FOR SHOWCASE SIGHT-READING SOLO EVENT?
    1. Login to the contestant account

    2. Click the COMPETITION REGISTRATION tab.
    - Hover the mouse over the COMPETITION REGISTRATION tab will provide a list of the Competition Categories.
    - Select the SHOWCASE SIGHT-READING SOLO. You will see the screen presenting the SHOWCASE SIGHT-READING SOLO events.

    3. Click on the Image above the level that you want to register, make sure that you review the information thoroughly to ensure it is the correct level according to Ages restriction.

    Click USOMC Upload to upload the contestant proof of age. Once clicking on the USOMC Upload link, it will bring you to another site of USOMC operation to upload the information. You are required to upload the proof of the contestant's age (e.g. birth certificate, official document or school ID that showing the contestant's DOB, etc.).

    USOMC does not store the uploaded information regarding the age. Once the contestant's age is confirmed, the information will be removed. Note that returning contestants do not need to upload the proof of age if they have already provided the proof to USOMC from previous year.

    - Hover the mouse over the COMPETITION REGISTRATION tab will provide a list of the Competition Categories.
    - Select the SHOWCASE SIGHT-READING DUET event. You will see the screen presenting the SHOWCASE SIGHT-READING DUET event.

    3. Click on the Image above the level that you want to register, make sure that you review the information thoroughly to ensure it is the correct level according to Ages restriction for Showcase categories.
    Enter the email address of
    a. the contestant who pay for the event entry
    b. the Primo player login email
    c. Secondo player login email.

    - Select OPEN OWN COMPOSITION. You will see the screen presenting OPEN OWN COMPOSITION event.

    3. Click on the Image above the event, make sure that you review the information thoroughly to ensure it is the correct event. Click Add to Cart.

    In the Music Selection boxes, Enter the detail description your piece in the following format: Contestant First name Last name: Music title [For example: Viviana Truong: Wind at Dusk].
    Enter the accurate time for your piece, such as 4:53 for 4 minutes and 53 seconds.

    Click USOMC Upload to upload the complete music score. Once clicking on the USOMC Upload link, it will bring you to another site of USOMC operation to upload the information.

    Once you are done with uploading information, hover back to the Registration site and Select Add to Cart.

    If you miss the Upload step during Registration, you can simply go back to the site, find the QUICK LINKS at the bottom of the page and select Upload Files to USOMC. You have until January 31st, 2021 to provide your complete score to USOMC.

    USOMC Staff will contact you by email to ensure that you provide your own composition before the deadline.

    - Select the SHOWCASE INSTRUMENTAL SOLO. You will see the screen presenting the SHOWCASE
    INSTRUMENTAL SOLO events. Click More Info> to open up the page of the particular event.

    3. Click on the Image above the level that you want to register, make sure that you review the information thoroughly to ensure it is the correct level according to Age restriction.

    In the Music Selection boxes, Enter the detail description of the two pieces in the following format:
    Composer First name Last name: Music title, mvt #, tempo marking, Op. #, Key
    [For example: Joseph Haydn: Andante (2nd mvt) from Sonata Hob.XVI:3 in C Major].
    Enter the accurate time for each of the two pieces, such as 2:53 for 2 minutes and 53 seconds.
    The Piano Accompaniment is preset as Yes and the entry fee for this event covers the fee for the accompanist. Select No if your piece does not require Piano Accompaniment. The fee for accompanist will be refunded to you once the registration is processed
    Select the Instrument type from the drop down arrow. If you don’t see your instrument name on the list, enter the name in the Other Instrument box
    Click USOMC Upload to upload the music pages and contestant proof of age. Once clicking on the USOMC Upload link, it will bring you to another site of USOMC operation to upload the information. You are required to upload the first 3 pages of each piece (if the piece is longer than 3 pages); and proof of the contestant's age (e.g. birth certificate, official document or school ID that showing the contestant's DOB, etc.).

    USOMC does not store the uploaded information regarding the age. Once the contestant's age is confirmed, the information will be removed. Note that returning contestants do not need to upload the proof of age if they have already provided the proof to USOMC from previous year.

    In the Music Selection boxes, Enter the detail description of the Ensemble or the Sonatas piece in the following format:

    [For example: Mendelssohn: Andante con moto tranquillo from Piano Trio #1 in D Minor].
    Enter the accurate time of the piece, such as 8:53 for 8 minutes and 53 seconds.
    Enter each player login email and Secondo player login email, and 3rd and 4th players if applied. Instrumental Ensemble is allowed up to 8 performers in the group. Make sure these emails are those used for contestants account creation.
    Select the Instrument type from the drop down arrow for each of the player. If you don’t see your instrument name on the list, enter the name in the Other Instrument box
    Click USOMC Upload to upload the music pages and contestant proof of age. Once clicking on the USOMC Upload link, it will bring you to another site of USOMC operation to upload the information.     This step is required only for contestants participate in Showcase events (Piano Solo, Concertos, Sight-Reading) and Own Composition.

    If you miss the Upload step during registration, you can simply go back to the registration site, find the QUICK LINKS at the bottom of the page and select Upload Files to USOMC.

    Make sure that you use the contestant account email address at login.
    Click on Browse to select the files from your computer folder or electronic device and select the file for uploading.
