Rule 2: Original Music Required:
(a) Contestants are not required to bring their own music for the following categories: Open Solo (20 events), Treasury - Composers (29 events) and Open Duet (22 events). USOMC will provide music for the judges for the above 71 events (all of them with preselected music).
(b) For categories with own-choice music, NOTE: original music or legally purchased-online music must be provided for the judges (no illegal photocopies are permitted). They include: Showcase Piano Solo (6 events), Piano Concertos (5 events), Showcase Piano Duet & Duo (8 events), Showcase Instrumental Solo, Showcase Sonatas & Ensemble Categories (9 events). Contestants of the above 28 events (all with contestants' own-choice music) are required to provide their own music for the adjudicators. Without proper music, a contestant will be disqualified from competing.
For the Own Composition category, all contestant must send their finished composition to USOMC by January 31st, 2022. See Category 20!
