Category 8: Open Duet Baroque - No Age Limit
There
are THREE LEVELS in this Category. Contestants may choose to enter one or more
levels, but only once in each level
and only with the pre-selected pieces listed
below. No Repeats.
For Baroque Music: Guidelines will be given to judges concerning "commonly known" Baroque performance practices which include ornaments, phrasings, dynamics and articulations, even not marked in the printed music. This
category DOES NOT REQUIRE MEMORIZATION
– although
contestants are strongly encouraged to play from memory if at all possible,
especially at the Prizewinners’ Concerts
. Note: Only one of the contestants will need to register for the event. The other contestant will be added by USOMC according to the contestant login email address. Every contestant must complete the application fee payment. All contestants' login email address must be entered when register. Make sure that the Login Email address reflect the contestant's name and NOT the parent's name nor teacher's name.
