USOMC will introduce a Preliminary Round of Competition for the events in 2019.

There will be two judges (as usual) for the preliminary round. Everything will stay the same, except judges will only select a group of preliminary winners, instead of individual winners of 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th places (like before). At the end of each event judges will announce all the preliminary winners for that event.

At the end of each day, there will be a panel of three judges, who will review ONLY the "Preliminary" winners' performances through a video recording of the actual competitions during the day. Then they will choose (as usual) the 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th place winners from each event. The results will be posted on-line, together with the judges' comments by the end of each day. The USOMC Board believes that this procedure will make the competitions even more effective for all the competitors as well as the judges.

THE JUDGES' DECISIONS ARE FINAL. Talking with or contacting the judges before, during or after the competitions is unethical, inappropriate and not allowed. The USOMC board may disqualify any contestant(s) displaying such conduct.
